Drug Offences

In addition to the Criminal Code, the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act is a federal statute that regulates street or non-prescription drugs, also known as "controlled substances." This Act divides drugs and their precursors into various schedules based on their potential risk to society and specifies the maximum penalties for their possession. It is important to understand the provisions of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the legal consequences of the possession or use of controlled substances.

Drug Possession

The type of drug and the amount you possess are the most critical factors for determining how your possession case will proceed.

Drug Trafficking

If you sell or even share narcotics, you can be charged with trafficking. The punishment increases for those found with large quantities.
