Heather Ferg

Heather Ferg is a criminal defence lawyer based in Calgary, Alberta. Born and raised in the city, she developed a passion for education early on, leading her to pursue two undergraduate degrees at the University of Calgary. She earned a degree in Political Science as well as one in English. Determined to continue her education and build a career in law, Ms. Ferg then enrolled in the University of Alberta's Faculty of Law program. There, she obtained her LL.B. and began her career in the legal field.

Ms. Ferg is a dedicated criminal litigator who focuses exclusively on criminal defence. She has a wealth of experience in handling serious and complex criminal cases, including murder trials, conspiracies, wiretaps, and organized crime cases. She has a deep understanding of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, particularly in regard to search and seizure laws. She has argued cases at all levels of Canadian courts and has even appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada on several occasions.

In her practice, Ms. Ferg offers a wide range of services, including pre-charge advice and consultation, bail and bail reviews, and criminal driving offences. She also handles appeals, including Summary Conviction Appeals in the Court of Queen's Bench, Conviction and Sentence Appeals in Provincial Courts of Appeal and Leave Applications and Appeals to the Supreme Court of Canada. She also has extensive experience in handling crimes of violence and sexual offences, drug offences, fraud and economic crimes, wiretap and proceeds of crime, extradition, and civil forfeiture.
